The Role:

Wyre Forest Area Adults team have an exciting opportunity for a Social Worker. We may consider newly qualified social workers and we provide a supportive ASYE programme to support your development

We are looking for Social Workers who have a positive and enthusiastic approach to practice, and experience with complex cases and situations. A high level of skills in assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation, alongside extensive knowledge of The Care Act, and the Mental Capacity Act is essential. We do offer flexible and mobile working but there is an expectation to support the duty function of the team in the office

In Worcestershire we have adopted the 3 Conversation Model of practice which involves a strength-based approach to working with people. You will manage your own caseload with appropriate supervision. This approach promotes autonomous and creative working styles amongst professionals. The 3 Conversation Model promotes a strength based, innovative and creative approach to practice, where you will support people to make positive changes in their life, exploring universal services as well as purchasing support packages to promote independence. You will need to have the confidence to advocate for our clients and work in partnership with health colleagues, other statutory partners, and voluntary sector providers.

The Wyre Forest Team is a very supportive and friendly team covering Kidderminster, Stourport, Bewdley, and surrounding areas. We foster a positive team culture and learning environment which includes weekly reflective practice sessions and catch-up sessions with the whole team and regular guest speakers. You will be offered on-going training, and professional development opportunities, monthly supervision, and a warm, supportive working environment where we value your contribution, and staff value and support each other

Quotes from current staff in the team.

“After finishing my last stage of professional training, I had several options to choose from, but chose to remain in this team due to it being the best social work team I’ve been a part of. There is a real togetherness amongst the whole team from students to managers to pull together in the same direction. I wouldn’t want to practice anywhere else.”

“I have been in the team since studying as a student in 2016 and I feel really valued and appreciated. I have been supported to develop my skills and experience over the years. I wouldn’t wish to work in a more supportive and friendly team.”
