If so, this is a brilliant opportunity for you to develop the specialist skills needed to work with carers to help children’s recovery from trauma using therapeutic parenting techniques.

Anchor is a multi-agency emotional health and wellbeing team for Worcestershire Looked After Children and their carer’s, providing attachment and trauma focused therapy and therapeutic parenting support. The team is jointly funded and managed by Worcestershire County Council and Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust. The team comprises of Clinical Psychologists, a Senior Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker, Child and Adolescent psychotherapist, Named Nurse and specialist Nurses, as well as a Community and Leisure Development Worker, Green Fingers Mentors, designated administrative support and now a Family Support Worker.

Where appropriate, it may also include work with the network around the child or young person. For example, support the team group work provision for carers, attend team around the child meetings or support Anchor Thinking Space meetings with Social Workers. To enhance your performance and development we have a permanent team manager, dedicated clinical lead and senior managers, who have created a reflective and supportive environment where staff value and learn from each other. You will receive training and supervision in specific therapeutic approaches to enable you to succeed, building on any previous experience or training that you may already have.

We are looking for people who will keep a relentless focus on positive outcomes for our Looked After children and young people, in particular in supporting their emotional health and well-being. Applicants must be able to travel county wide and across county borders if needed. The post will be mainly based in CAMHS buildings across the county and once a week at the team base in Pershore.
