Job Title: Peer Mentor Apprentice (Opportunity for a Worcestershire Care Leaver)
Team: Youth Voice – Child Protection & Through Care
Salary: £20,105 to £20,420 per annum
30 Hours per Week
Location: Worcester, Worcestershire
Fixed Term – 24 months
The Role
Worcestershire County Council’s Youth Voice team have a motto which was created by our young people, for all children and young people, which states, we believe we should do:
“Nothing about You, without You”
You must be a Worcestershire Care Leaver.
This apprenticeship role provides a Worcestershire Care Leaver with an exciting opportunity be part of the Youth Voice team, supporting young people to be actively involved in decision-making that affects the lives of children and families across the communities of Worcestershire.
You will work alongside the Team Supervisor and Development mentor within the Youth Voice team to enable young people across Worcestershire to share what works well, to offer their views on how we could improve experiences, helping shape services in the future.
Based in a small team in St Johns, Worcester your role will include:
- Involvement and planning and administration of consultation opportunities to hear the voices of children and young people across Worcestershire.
- Supporting various projects linked to the participation groups.
- Supporting the development and delivery of training to professionals about participation.
- Enabling young people to make a positive contributions and shape services to improve outcomes for children and young people in Worcestershire.
Involvement with support groups including Who Cares We Care, Action Speak Care Leavers group and Worcestershire Youth Cabinet.
Candidates will need to have a Level 2 qualification or relevant experience and Foundation English.
