Job Title: Class Teacher - Maternity Cover
Salary: £32,916 - £42,057 per annum

Fixed term maternity cover
Blakedown CE Primary School is a friendly, nurturing and welcoming one-form entry Church of England school. It is set in a semi-rural village and serves the immediate area of Blakedown whilst also offering places to pupils in the surrounding areas further afield in Hagley and Kidderminster. This is a fixed term vacancy to fill a maternity cover for an Early Years, Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2 class teacher from 1st September 2026 across the academic year until July 2027. This role would be suitable for either an ECT or a more experienced teacher on the main pay scale.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the primary school curriculum. They will have demonstrated excellent standards on teaching practices and a strong work ethic during their training and/ or employment. We are looking for a candidate who loves teaching and who understands the importance of supporting and adapting learning for children with additional needs, including children with EHCPs. We believe that building relationships with children and families is key to children’s success and happiness and we are looking for teachers who share this belief.
Key Requirements
• Qualified teacher status (or expected to achieve this)
• Good or outstanding practice with high expectations for achievement and behaviour for all children, including those with SEND
• A sound understanding of the primary school curriculum
• A good understanding of how children learn to read
• A nurturing approach which values relationships
• A drive to support the whole school vision
• Dedication and a willingness to contribute to the whole school ethos
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills allowing you to be a wonderful team member
