Full-Time Cover Supervisor

Scale 5 Salary Scale Point 12 - £22,794 based on 32.5 hours per week - term-time plus 5 training days

Required as soon as possible.

We are seeking a specialist Cover Supervisor with the skills and experience to support our cover team. This may include some specialist support in a subject area, dependent on the successful candidate’s skills and experience. There must also be willingness to undertake Health and Safety training to ensure that all legislation is complied with. There may also be the option to complete some PE training to enable the candidate to cover practical PE lessons effectively.

The successful candidate will enjoy working with young people, as they will be responsible for classes in the absence of a teacher. The Cover Supervisor will be expected to manage the behaviour of students whilst they are completing learning activities set by the teacher, and a confident classroom presence is essential. When not deployed to cover absent staff, the role will become Enrichment Supervisor, supporting the delivery of the school’s comprehensive enrichment programme and house system.

A good general standard of education is also required (applicants must have minimum qualifications of GCSE grade C, or equivalent, in Maths, English & Science) and an interest in a career in the education sector is desirable. The role involves an 8.30am to 3.30pm working day, Monday to Friday with a 30-minute lunch break.
