About the role
This Deputy Headteacher role has a clear strategic focus on:
- Early Years leadership and development
- Safeguarding (Designated Safeguarding Lead)
- Mental Health Lead
- Pupil Premium Lead
You will play a central role in shaping the earliest experiences of our children, ensuring strong foundations for learning, development and wellbeing.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a deep understanding of high-quality Early Years provision
- Can lead and inspire excellence in Nursery, Pre School, Reception and beyond
- Is experienced and confident in managing Safeguarding
- Understands how to support children with additional needs within inclusive classrooms
- Builds strong, trusting relationships with families
- Demonstrates resilience, warmth and professional integrity
- Can work effectively in a school with complex and varied needs
- Has experience in coaching and supporting staff
The school context
We are a one-form entry primary school with a strong inclusive ethos. A significant number of our pupils have additional needs, with fifty-three having an EHCP and many families require ongoing support. This role is key in ensuring that early identification, intervention and care are embedded from the very start of a child’s journey with us.
