Job Title: Direct Payments Officer
Salary: 27,052 to 29,345 per annum
35 Hours per Week
Location: Wildwood, and Hybrid
Team: Children with Disabilities Team, All Age disability service
Permanent Contract
The Role:
This is a newly created and dynamic role within the All Age Disability Service. it is focused on supporting children, young people, and their families through the administration of Direct Payments and Personal Budgets.
As part of the wider social care and Special Educational Needs (SEN) offer, the postholder will:
- Implement and maintain Direct Payments for parent/carers, following assessment and funding panel approval.
- Oversee and monitor ongoing payments, ensuring timely setup and smooth operation through internal systems.
- Audit Direct Payment accounts during regular 6-month reviews to ensure compliance and appropriate use of funds.
- Collaborate with social care staff, parent/carers, and external service providers to deliver effective support.
- Support the SEN department in managing education-related personal budgets for children/young people being educated outside of school.
- Be instrumental in shaping and refining new processes associated with this evolving role.
- Receive comprehensive training and ongoing development, working closely with an experienced and supportive team.
- Provide additional support to Business Support Officers where needed.
This role requires someone who is proactive, well-organized, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively to ensure high-quality service delivery.
