Job Title: Education Lead for Children with a Social Worker
Salary: £43,247 - £46,077 per annum
35 Hours per Week
Location: County Hall (Pershore Civic Centre)

The Role:
Worcestershire Virtual School fulfils the Local Authority’s statutory duties in ensuring that children and young people in care, previously in care and those with a social worker receive the best possible educational provision and outcomes. We work with children, young people and their families as well as colleagues across Education, Social Care and Health to ensure our children and young people reach their full potential.
As Education Lead for Children with a Social Worker, you will promote educational outcomes through strategic leadership and support to ensure these children receive the necessary educational opportunities and resources to succeed.
The DfE defines the role as to:
‘Make visible the disadvantages that children with a social worker can experience, enhancing partnerships between education settings and local authorities to help all agencies hold high aspirations for these children.’
‘Promote practice that supports children’s engagement in education, recognising that attending an education setting can be an important factor in helping to keep children safe from harm.’
‘Improve children’s outcomes and narrow the attainment gap with all children so that every child with a social worker can reach their potential.’
