Salary: £31,537 - £33,699 per annum 
37 Hours per Week

Are you passionate about making a difference for children and families? We are looking for a Family Support Worker to join our Permanency Team within Children’s Services – Safeguarding & Services to Children and Young People.

About the Role

As a Family Support Worker, you will:

  • Provide direct support to children, parents, and carers as part of assessments, plans, and reviews.
  • Deliver Life Story Work to help children understand their early experiences in a creative and empathetic way.
  • Support Special Guardianship Order (SGO) families, ensuring they have access to responsive, specialised support.
  • Work closely with Private Law social workers and Case Progression Officers on private law tasks, liaising with courts and updating case systems.
  • Empower parents/carers to meet their children’s needs and help keep children safe through effective planning.

What We’re Looking For

  • A self-motivated individual with excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, based on family needs.
  • Experience of working in partnership with other agencies as part of a ‘team around the family’.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
