The Health and Safety team look after the welfare of Worcestershire County Council Staff and several other contracts for Health and Safety Services across the local area. We have a fantastic opportunity for a Health & Safety Advisor to join our growing passionate Health and Safety team. Prior Health & Safety experience is required in construction/refurbishment. This role can be based anywhere in the Worcestershire area. There will a mixture of Hybrid and Home working/Office/Site visits. However, most of the time the role will be home-based. However, the successful candidate can make this more of a hybrid role if it suits the individual.
The successful candidate will be expected to carry out and advise on risk assessments, audits, deliver H&S packages, inspections, accident investigations and deliver training where necessary.
You will have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), high level administration skills coupled with the ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder and client relationships. You will have a highly adaptable approach and will be computer literate with the ability to gain a good grasp on bespoke systems.
What we are looking for –
It is essential that the post holder has:
- Experience of Construction/Refurbishment.
- Substantial experience of providing Health and Safety support to managers and frontline services.
- Substantial experience of Health and Safety training.
- Substantial experience of Health and Safety auditing.
It is desirable that the post holder has:
- Experience of mentoring/coaching.
- Experience of Safety One and Safety Two methodology.
- Experience of Learning Teams.
Additionally, the ideal candidate should have the following personal skills:
- Proactivity with a high attention to detail
- Self-motivated and determined with a strong sense of personal initiative
