About the Role
Parkside Middle School is seeking a dedicated and inspiring Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our warm, inclusive community. With inclusivity at the heart of our provision, we are proud to nurture individuality, celebrate strengths and ensure every pupil feels valued, supported and ready to learn.
As lead practitioner within our Mainstream Autism Base, you will contribute to development of this provision, support pupils who access it by providing tailored learning, and support the curriculum design. In addition to enable and support to pupils integrate across the wider school community, you will nurture pupils to help them to develop academic excellence while fostering creativity, curiosity and confidence. You will help create an environment where every child can flourish.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading Learning— Deliver engaging small‑group and whole‑class teaching that inspires curiosity and deepens knowledge.
- Autism Support— Provide structured, compassionate support for pupils with autism, promoting independence,communicationand emotional wellbeing.
- Curriculum Adaptation— Shape learning experiences that are accessible, challenging and rooted in our creative, knowledge‑rich curriculum.
- Wellbeing and Relationships— Build strong, respectful relationships that help pupils feel safe, happy and ready to learn.
- Values‑Led Practice— Model and promote kindness, resilience, respect, honesty and teamwork in every interaction.
- Collaborative Working— Work closely with teachers, support staff and families to ensure every pupil can achieve their potential.
- Assessment Support— Contribute to monitoring progress and celebrating achievements across academic and personal development.
