Hanbury CE First School is seeking a caring, enthusiastic and committed Nursery Practitioner to join our friendly and supportive early years team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a nurturing, values-led school where children are at the heart of everything we do.

Hours: Monday to Thursday 8:00 am – 3:30pm Friday 8.45am – 3.30pm
Contract: Term time only

There is further opportunity for employment within our school in-house holiday club, which runs for 7 weeks across the school year. This position would be paid at TA2. 

The Role

The successful candidate will work as part of our Early Years team to support children’s learning, development and wellbeing in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). The role will include working within our wraparound provision to support our preschool children outside of the core hours of preschool (9am-3pm). You will support and create a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment where all children can thrive. 

Essential Criteria

  • Hold a full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification
  • Experience of working with young children in an Early Years setting
  • Strong understanding of the EYFS framework
  • Ability to support children’s learning through play and planned activities
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a team
  • A caring, patient and positive approach to working with young children
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Willingness to support the Christian ethos of the school
  • Confidence in building positive relationships with parents and carers

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience working in a school-based nursery or preschool
  • Knowledge of child development and early intervention strategies
  • Experience of supporting children with additional need
  • Paediatric First Aid qualification (or willingness to undertake training
