Astley CE Primary School is looking for a caring, enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant to join our friendly team. We are a small, rural Church of England primary school where children are known as individuals and relationships are at the heart of school life.
You will work as part of our dedicated team to support pupils across the school, including children with special educational needs and/or disabilities. The role will involve working with individuals and groups, supporting high-quality learning, delivering interventions, helping pupils to overcome barriers to learning and promoting their confidence and independence. You will work closely with class teachers and other colleagues to ensure that every child is supported to achieve their potential.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about educating and supporting the whole child. You will be joining a supportive and collaborative staff team where professional development is actively encouraged. Our latest Ofsted inspection in May 2026 judged Inclusion to be at the Strong standard, recognising our highly inclusive culture and the well-targeted support provided to pupils. Ofsted also found that staff feel valued and supported and benefit from an effective programme of professional learning.
We can offer enthusiastic children, a welcoming school community, supportive colleagues and opportunities to develop professionally. As a Church of England school, our values and Christian ethos are central to school life, and the successful candidate will be expected to support this ethos.
We strongly encourage prospective applicants to visit the school and meet our team.
