The Role: 

Are you a confident and experienced safeguarding professional ready to lead a dynamic team at the forefront of adult safeguarding?

We are seeking a strategic and compassionate leader to head our dedicated Safeguarding Early Response Team, established in 2023 to strengthen decision-making under Section 42(1) of the Care Act 2014, identify patterns and trends, and prevent future safeguarding concerns.

This is a pivotal leadership role offering the opportunity to shape safeguarding practice across the organisation and influence outcomes for adults with care and support needs. You’ll provide expert oversight, guidance, and assurance in how safeguarding concerns are identified, assessed, and addressed.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of safeguarding professionals, providing expert advice, coaching, and supervision
  • Oversee consistent, proportionate, and legally sound decision-making for safeguarding concerns
  • Analyse safeguarding data to identify patterns, themes, and trends, informing strategic planning and quality assurance
  • Take the lead on safeguarding concerns in provider services, working with providers, commissioners, quality assurance, regulators, and partner agencies
  • Contribute to the development of safeguarding policy, practice, and training to strengthen safeguarding culture
  • Represent the service at multi-agency safeguarding meetings, panels, and boards

About You:

You’ll be a confident safeguarding leader with a strong understanding of adult social care legislation, particularly the Care Act 2014. You’ll bring experience in managing complex safeguarding concerns, leading a team, and working collaboratively across systems to improve outcomes
