The Role: Social Care Worker
This is an opportunity to work with people in a person centred way enabling them to be supported in their local community. You will work with people within the Bromsgrove area to remain in their own homes and maintain their independence. You will do assessments and reviews under the Care Act 2014.
You will work within a diverse and experienced Social Work Team. The Bromsgrove Area Team supports each other and is approachable. The team has a mixture of Social Workers and Social Care Workers with a range of skills and talents. The team enjoys spending time together and they take any excuse to celebrate events together. The team describe themselves as friendly, supportive, hardworking and that they enjoy working within the team.
There is an opportunity to work in partnership with health, housing and other community related organisations and groups. This ensures that we are looking at the right support, at the right time in a way that works for the person. We encourage the building of relationships and partnerships with groups within the local area. The Bromsgrove Team also has workers that are part of working groups within the council to improve services and outcomes for the people we work with.
The Bromsgrove Area Team is a learning team. The Bromsgrove Area Team has monthly reflective sessions where we have speakers and discuss topics relevant to the job or of interest in the work we do.
There are weekly huddles where the team discuss cases and support each other in finding solutions and/or information to enable them to offer the support people need.
There is the opportunity to train as a Social Worker after a qualifying period of working for WCC We partner with Warwick University and Worcester University in this. Worcestershire County Council does offer hybrid working which is a mixture of working from an office location and home.
