The role is based at Parkside, Bromsgrove but includes working from home and flexible working as part of a hybrid model.
A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent Social Worker post in the Children with Disabilities Team which is part of the All Age Disability Service in Worcestershire. We are looking for a dynamic and creative person who is passionate about disability and making a difference in children’s lives.
You would be joining a small and friendly team of Social Workers and Family Support Workers who work with families to promote the best outcomes for children with additional needs. The team work with children aged 0-16 with a range of complex disabilities and health needs. We work in a multi-disciplinary way to ensure children and families receive the right support at the right time.
The team hold a diverse and varied caseload supporting children and families through assessment and review, identifying disability needs and setting up packages of support in a timely and outcome focused way. You would primarily be working with children who are on Child in Need Plans and Children in Care, however the team also complete safeguarding work and hold children on a Child Protection Plan completing court work when required. Additionally, the team work with our wider Children’s Services and Early Help colleagues providing specialist disability advice and support.
The post is based in the north team working across the north of the county, however there may also be a requirement at times to cover work in the south of the county as well as working with children who are placed outside of Worcestershire.

The All Age Disability Service:
The All-Age Disability Service is an exciting service which brings together the Special Educational Needs Department (SEND), Children with Disabilities Team (0-16) and the Young Adults Team (16-25). Whilst you would retain your specialism within your team being part of this service will provide you with a great opportunity for to work in a more integrated and multi-agency way.
The purpose of the All Age Disability Service is to improve the experiences and outcomes of those children and young people with disabilities and special educational needs aged 0-25 by having support and co-ordination of a joined-up offer.
Being part of the All-Age Disability service you would have opportunity to work closer with SEND and Adult Services to provide children and families with a more informed and joined up approach. You would also be part of regular service days and there are many learning opportunities across the teams.
