The Role: Strategic Category Lead
Are you an expert in procurement strategy with a passion for delivering best value in public services? We are looking for a dynamic Strategic Category Lead to shape and manage commercial activity within a key service area, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and sustainability.
This role is to oversee our 'Place' category; we are particularly interested in hearing from individuals with experience in sourcing for construction/highways projects, with a working knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Development and implementation of sourcing strategies for specific construction projects with forward-thinking approaches for continuous improvement which maximise value, minimise risk and ensure policy compliance
- Developing business cases with key stakeholders to present at Commercial Board, chaired by the Chief Executive
- Managing complex procurement projects and frameworks within public sector regulations
- Collaborating with key stakeholders to nurture relationships, ensuring ongoing engagement and performance improvements which align with strategic objectives
- Identifying opportunities for innovation and sustainable procurement practices
