Job Title: Teaching Assistant 1:1 Fixed Term Contract
Salary: £19.132 - £19,432 per annum
Hours: 32.5 hours per week
Location: Whittington CE Primary School
Fixed Term for 12 months (Linked to a named EHCP pupil)
Starting: September 2026 for 12 months (39 weeks, term time only + 5 training days)
Whittington CE Primary School is looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant, to work on a 1:1 basis with a named EHCP pupil, to join our team for September 2026.
- Experience of working with children aged 4-11
- Experience of the primary/first school phase
- Experience of working with SEN children
Whittington CE Primary is a single form entry Church of England School and our motto is 'To love, to learn, to flourish - together', which summarises the ethos of our school.
We are looking for candidates who are able to demonstrate high quality support with exceptionally high expectations for every child.
By joining the team, the successful candidate will be required to work collaboratively to fulfil the school's strong Christian vison and values.
The 1:1 teaching assistant will need to:
- Support individuals and groups who are on the SEN register including pupils with a Statement of Special Educational Needs.
- Liaise with the class teacher to ensure that the pupil/ groups have access to the school curriculum by adapting activities and resources.
- Plan and implement personalised activities which suit the needs of the child
- Ensure that the pupil is fully integrated into the life of the class and the wider school
- Report to and liaise with the school’s SENCO and outside agencies on progress
