An exciting opportunity has arisen at Cookley Sebright Primary School for an enthusiastic, dedicated and nurturing Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and highly supportive team.
Cookley Sebright Primary School is a thriving one-form entry village primary school near Kidderminster, where our values of Enjoy, Discover and Achieve are at the heart of everything we do. We are seeking a committed individual who is passionate about helping children reach their full potential and who shares our child-centred approach to education.
The role will initially be based within Year 6, therefore experience of, or familiarity with, the Upper Key Stage 2 curriculum would be advantageous. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced teaching and support staff to help pupils prepare successfully for the transition to secondary school.
As a school, we have a significant number of pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). A substantial part of this role will involve supporting children with a range of additional needs, particularly those with learning difficulties and speech, language and communication needs. Previous experience of working with children with SEND would therefore be highly desirable, although full support and guidance will be provided.
The successful applicant will:
- Have an understanding of the primary curriculum, particularly Upper Key Stage 2.
- Work closely alongside the class teacher to plan, adapt and deliver engaging learning opportunities.
- Be committed to supporting all children to achieve their best academically, socially and emotionally.
- Have experience of, or an interest in, supporting children with SEND, particularly learning and speech and language needs.
- Demonstrate patience, flexibility and a nurturing approach.
- Be able to use their own initiative while working effectively as part of a team.
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Hold a relevant Level 3 qualification (or equivalent).
We can offer:
- The opportunity to work within a welcoming and inclusive school community.
- A highly supportive team of experienced teachers, teaching assistants and leaders.
- Ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
- The chance to make a genuine difference to the lives of children, including those with additional needs.
- Friendly, dedicated colleagues who are passionate about providing the best possible education for every child.
