The Role:
Worcestershire County Council is committed to supporting its residents to live healthy and independent lives in their community.
In order to achieve this, the Council, in partnership with NHS colleagues and our care providers, provide a Reablement service that will assist adults referred to the council for social care to regain their independence.
Our approach will be to offer short-term intensive support to enable individuals to learn how to live their lives as independently as they can and support them to regain independence during the period of support. We focus on what people can do and build on these skills. We will make sure people receive the right support at the right time to help them live independently at home for as long as possible.
This is part of a broader approach to ensure Worcestershire residents are healthier, live longer, have better quality of life and remain independent for as long as possible.
We have an exciting new vacant role to help us to deliver the service more effectively – Reablement Therapy Assistant.
As the ideal candidate you must have considerable experience of working in a Health and/or Social Care setting, along with experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team or working in a collaborative way. Knowledge and experience of Reablement services will be an advantage. It is also equally important that you can demonstrate a can-do attitude, and that you are proactive, compassionate and empathetic.
In return you will be supported in your role by your line manager through one-to-one meetings and performance reviews, team meetings and will have access to the corporate wellbeing offer. You will also receive clinical supervision. You also receive 5 weeks annual leave in addition to Bank Holidays, rising to 6 weeks after 5 years’ service, and access to the Local Government Pension Scheme.
It will be an expectation that the successful candidates will complete an Occupational Therapy apprenticeship whilst in this role as part of their career development. You will be supported in this by the service to apply and complete the qualification. This will most likely have a start date of September 2027.
