Job Title: Transport Contracts Monitoring Officer
Salary: £29,832 - £31,877 per annum 
35 Hours per Week
Location: Warndon Depot, Pershore Lane, Worcester

Team: Contracts and Compliance Team 
Permanent Contract

The Role: 

We are looking for a committed and detail-focused Transport Monitoring Officer to support Worcestershire County Council in ensuring that transport services across the county are safe, reliable, and compliant.

This is a varied, field-based role where you will monitor contracted transport services, ensuring compliance with legislation and the council’s terms and conditions, while supporting continuous service improvement.


Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake on-site monitoring of contracted transport services across Worcestershire
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and council standards
  • Assess contractor performance against specifications and contractual requirements
  • Record findings clearly and provide accurate, evidence-based reports
  • Investigate complaints, incidents, and non-compliance, recommending appropriate action
  • Work collaboratively with operators and internal teams to resolve issues and improve service delivery
  • Support contract management, audit, and performance monitoring activities
  • To support and assist with asset management and passenger transport timetable network

Essential Requirements

  • Experience in a compliance, monitoring, transport, or contract-related role
  • Strong observational and reporting skills
  • Good knowledge of relevant transport legislation (or willingness to learn)
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
