Are you passionate about teaching maths or English and helping young people achieve recognised qualifications?
Do you enjoy supporting learners to build confidence, develop skills, and make meaningful progress toward their employment and career goals?
If so, we’d love you to join our committed and friendly team.
Learning Services Worcestershire is expanding its Young Adult Learning provision in Worcester and Redditch and is recruiting enthusiastic sessional staff to deliver maths and English teaching.
English and maths (GCSE and Functional Skills, Entry Level to Level 2) are a core component of our employment-focused Study Programmes for learners aged 16–24, supporting them to achieve the qualifications they need to progress.
Many of our learners have experienced disrupted education and have a range of support and learning needs, including social, emotional and mental health challenges. Through small class sizes, a flexible approach and strong pastoral support, we provide high-quality teaching that helps learners build confidence, thrive and succeed.
About the Roles
We are recruiting to our standard career-graded tutor pathway:
Assistant Tutors – £13.26 per hour
Support learning, build confidence, and help learners engage with maths or English. Ideal for those starting a teaching career or with experience supporting young people.
Tutors – £14.82 per hour
Plan and deliver high-quality maths or English sessions, supporting learners to achieve Functional Skills and/or GCSE qualifications.
Senior Tutors – £16.35 per hour
Alongside teaching, support curriculum planning, contribute to quality improvement, and mentor colleagues.
While these roles sit within a wider generic tutor structure, you will primarily deliver maths or English within your specialist area. Full role expectations are outlined in the job description.
