Worcestershire County Council (WCC) delivers many different services to support our residents, and employs over 2,000 members of staff across these services in many different jobs. 

The Finance Operational Services (FOS) Team is part of the Council’s overall Finance Team and supports Worcestershire’s residents from their early years, into later life, and everything in between.  The team play a vital role in supporting other areas of the Council by making payments to both individuals and businesses to pay for services provided, calculating an individual’s contribution payable towards their care, managing insurance claims, early years payments and income and debt services, to name a few!  We are a fast paced, dynamic and enthusiastic team with a passion for the service we provide to our residents.

Due to internal progression, we are looking for a new Financial Assessment Team member.  This role carries out means-tested financial assessments for adults who have care and support needs.  The role works closely with Adult Social Care colleagues, Legal colleagues and members of the public to make sure we have the right, and accurate information.  

You must be a reliable team player with excellent attention to detail and accuracy skills, as well as having good communication and explanation skills.  Ideally you will have a knowledge of Adult Social Care, but more important is a willingness to learn and follow new processes and constantly improve service delivery.

Key duties for this role include:

  1. Supporting the completion of means-tested financial assessments within a given timeframe
  2. Prioritising your own workload and the ability to multi task 
  3. Ability to follow processes and apply and apply legislation
