Job Title: Green FIngers Outreach Mentor
Salary: £23,243 - £25,213per annum (35 hours a week Term Time over 38 weeks)

Contract : 12 month Fixed Term Contract
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Green Fingers project team. Green Fingers is a project for Worcestershire Children who are Looked After by Foster Carers, Kinship Carers or Residential Support Workers. The Green Fingers project is based within the Anchor emotional health and well-being service. The project offers alternative curriculum support and activities that are therapeutically beneficial to children and young people.
You will be working on a new outreach mentoring project.We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative individual who has experience of working with young people on a one-to-one basis. You will be working directly with children who are Looked After (and Previously Looked After) to raise aspirations, support inclusion and promote their health and wellbeing, both on the Green Fingers site and in schools / educational settings.
You will need to plan and risk assess activities effectively. You will also need to be able to build rapport and motivate young people. You will support the individual needs of young people, some of whom will have experienced loss and trauma and may have attachment difficulties and/or additional developmental needs. You will need to liaise closely with carers and other professionals, including schools, social workers and the virtual school in order to promote a consistent, flexible and collaborative approach to support educational and health and wellbeing needs.
You will need good communication and organisational skills. Proven ability of being able to work independently and evidence of maintaining an adaptable, flexible and responsive approach is essential. You will need to be able to manage your own time and resources to plan your work and appointments effectively. You will be chairing review meetings with school, carers and social workers to monitor progress and create plans of work. You will need to be computer literate to produce daily record keeping and reports.
It is essential that you are able to travel across the county and across the county border with resources and equipment as you will be visiting various school and educational settings throughout the day.
Previous experience of working in educational settings would be advantageous.
