Salary: £14,989 - £15,975 (based on 21hr working week)
21 Hours per Week
Location: Wildwood Officer - Part of the County Hall Campus

The Role: 

We’re looking for a proactive and highly organised Business Support Officer to join our Adults Social Work Academy, part of the Learning and Organisational Development team within HR. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the development of social work professionals and make a meaningful impact across our Adults Directorate.

The Academy supports student placements, newly qualified social workers (NQSWs), Practice Educators, and ongoing professional development. In this role, you’ll provide essential administrative support to the Academy team, including managing recruitment for our Social Work Degree Apprenticeships, coordinating celebration events, and leading on key administrative tasks over the coming months.

About the Role

  • Hours: 21 hours per week (Tuesday to Thursday inclusive)
  • Location: Office attendance required at least one day per week (currently Thursday), with flexibility for events and other activities
  • Contract: Fixed-term, part-time
  • Reporting to: Learning and Organisational Development Team Leader
  • Working closely with: Adults Social Work Academy team

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer recruitment processes for Social Work Degree Apprenticeships
  • Organise and support celebration and recognition events
  • Provide high-quality administrative support across a range of Academy activities
  • Manage communications via phone, email, face-to-face, and online
  • Maintain accurate records and input data into internal systems and external websites
  • Support financial processes related to funding applications and tracking
  • Produce correspondence, reports
  • Organise meetings and attend in person and online for minutes
  • Handle enquiries and maintain confidentiality in line with data protection requirements

About You

We’re seeking someone with:

  • Proven experience in office administration and working within a team
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
  • Confidence using MS Office and internal/external databases
  • Experience in financial administration

You’ll be self-motivated, solution-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, especially during peak periods of workload.
