We are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to join our team working within EYFS/KS1. The role will also include lunchtime and break cover.

OUTLINE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

  • Provide 1:1 support and small group work
  • Participate in the planning, delivery and evaluation of learning activities in accordance with the EHCP as needed. Adapting resources to ensure accessible learning for the pupil/s. 
  • To support pupil/s in accessing and understanding learning intentions in lessons.
  • Support pupil/s to develop their physical, social and emotional development.
  • Encourage pupils to take responsibility for their own learning and promoting development of self-esteem.
  • Support the class teacher and SENDco on pupil progress and assessment.
  • Use agreed strategies and tools to support pupil/s with regulation and learning.
  • Interacting appropriately and professionally with teachers, colleagues and third-party professionals.
  • To support the class teacher with maintaining family support and involvement.
  • Care for children in ways that have regard for their home values and practices.
  • Promote school policies on pupil behaviour
  • Adhere to school policies and engage in CPD appropriate to your role.
  • Maintain confidentiality and impartiality.
  • Undertake any other duties as deemed appropriate by the Headteacher and relevant to the pay scale.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • TA Qualification essential.
  • SEN experience or qualification essential.
  • Good level of verbal and written English and Maths.
  • Good level of communication skills with the ability to support pupils and staff and communicate with parents

Disclosure Barring Service (DBS)
  This post is exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of criminal records via the Disclosure and Barring Service before the appointment is confirmed.
