Salary:  £22,278 - £22,632 per annum 
Hours: 08:30-16:30 (37.5 hours per week)

We are seeking a dedicated, organised and compassionate School Secretary to join our team following the departure of the current post holder.  This appointment comes at an exciting time for our school. As we continue to live out our motto, Happy Hearts, Open Minds, Bright Futures, we are also celebrating a significant milestone: we will become a full primary school, welcoming our very first Year 6 cohort in September 2026. The school secretary plays a central part in supporting this next chapter, helping ensure every child and family feels valued from the moment they step inside.


About the Role

The school secretary is the heartbeat of our office and a key point of contact for our community. The successful candidate will:

  • Provide a warm, welcoming presence for families, visitors and staff

  • Manage day‑to‑day administrative tasks with accuracy and attention to detail

  • Support the smooth running of the school through excellent organisation and communication

  • Handle enquiries, phone calls and emails with clarity and kindness

  • Assist with pupil welfare, offering reassurance and practical support when needed

  • Communicate with families using our Class Dojo platform, ensuring messages are timely, clear and supportive

  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times

We are seeking someone who embodies:

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask in a busy environment

  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal

  • A caring, child‑centred approach that reflects our commitment to nurturing happy hearts

  • Openness to learning and digital confidence, including thoughtful use of AI resources and familiarity with tools such as Class Dojo

  • A collaborative mindset, working closely with staff to support open minds and bright futures

  • A valid First Aid qualification, or willingness to undertake training, to support children’s welfare in the office

Disclosure Barring Service (DBS)
This post is exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of criminal records via the Disclosure and Barring Service before the appointment is confirmed.
